PureFTPd Manager now runs on 10.6

Just a quick update to let you know that PureFTPd Manager 1.8 is out. It has successfully been tested with Mac OS 10.6.

It's really a very small update targetting Mac OS 10.6 specifically but you can install it on 10.4 and 10.5 too.
Also, I'm thinking about dropping support for Mac OS 10.2 and 10.3. Please mail me if you'll be affected.

PureFTPd Manager now runs on 10.5

Just a quick update to let you know that PureFTPd Manager 1.7 is out. It runs on Mac OS 10.2+ and has successfully been tested with Mac OS 10.5 (fresh install and update scenarii).

PureFTPd on your iPod Touch / iPhone

It's a minimal server (112KB) with directory aliases, virtual users, FTP/TLS capabilities and Bonjour support.
It can transfer at 1.2MB/s (scp/sftp max speed is around 350KB/s).
A default certificate for FTP/TLS is installed to /etc/pureftpd.pem. You can use this one or replace it by your own self-signed certificate.

The package is accessible through the Installer.app, under the Network category.
People who feel clever enough to install it manually can download the archive here.

I'm also working on PureFTPd Manager to make it compatible with Mac OS 10.5. More news on that later.

I'm glad to announce that PureFTPd Manager will now run natively on the latest Apple hardware. I still didn't get my MacBook Pro but some of you out there were kind enough to test this release on their Intel based Mac and their reports were very positive.
Here is the additional changelog for this release:

User Interface
  • Previous releases of PureFTPd Manager (1.6.x) lost the ability to save window size and position along with toolbar customization. This release fixes this bug.
  • New gradient window background and unified toolbar look (for Mac OS 10.4).
User Manager / Anonymous Preference Pane
  • Virtual Folders list was not refreshed when a virtual user's home directory was changed.
Logging Preference Pane / HTML Statistics generation
  • Bug fix for monthly totals calculation.
Server Option Preference Pane
  • You can now define your recursion levels limit in response to ls and ls -R commands.
Localization
  • More French localization fix... still no French documentation, hélas!
One more thing ...

Server Logs
  • A bug that sometime caused the application to crash at startup has been fixed.
Preferences
  • Quitting the Logging preference panes crashed PureFTPd Manager on Mac OS 10.3 (Tiger users were not affected). It has been fixed in this release.
Documentation update
  • More info added on how PureFTPd handles SSL/TLS sessions.
Localization update
  • Some messages were not translated in french in the SSL/TLS and in the Authentication preference panes.
Donation window
  • You can now choose to contribute in your favorite currency (choice is restricted by Paypal to Euros, US Dollars, Australian Dollars, Canadian Dollars, Pounds Sterling, Yen ) and help me get a MacBook Pro to port PureFTPd Manager to Intel-based Mac.

PureFTPd Manager 1.6 bundles pure-ftpd 1.0.21 (for Mac 10.3 and above)

Server Status
  • Displays your server public IP address so it's more easy for you to give it to your friends
  • Splits upload and download bandwidth usage
Server Logs
  • Date & Time are now properly adjusted to your time zone
  • The transfer graphical view handles uploads and downloads separately
  • Logs can be converted periodically to HTML or CSV files
  • Filenames are correctly decoded
User Manager
  • If you use PureDB (most likely scenario) you can activate / deactivate user account in a single-click
  • Minor Virtual folder browser improvements
